NorthRiver is seeking an Entry Level Process Operator who is a hands-on problem solver, capable of logical thinking and breaking down complex issues to find practical solutions, while balancing attention to detail with big-picture awareness. The ideal candidate adapts quickly, constantly seeks efficient work methods, and brings a collaborative spirit to the team, actively contributing to group success by offering support, sharing knowledge, and stepping up when needed. Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent technical training
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certification, valid in BC
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • 3rd Class Power Engineering Certification or higher, valid in BC
  • Gas Plant Operations (GPO) Certification
  • 1-3 Years’ experience as a shift operator in a oil/gas processing facility
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Strong focus on safety
  • Strong team player capable of working with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of safe operating procedures.
  • Complete all North River Midstream training as required.
  • Operate all plant systems for respective area in a safe, effective and efficient manner, meeting all regulatory requirements and focusing on continuous improvement of operating practices, plant reliability and production.
  • Manage day to day operations activities of assigned plant area(s) including: Equipment preparation and lock out for maintenance; Regular plant safety equipment inspections; Operator equipment checks and process equipment readings; Issue of work permits for the area(s) of responsibility; Input of notifications for failed equipment within assigned area(s).
  • Troubleshoot equipment and/or process problems.
  • Environmental permit requirements, policies, and reporting procedures; spill control and clean up procedures.
  • Communication of all process changes and concerns at the end of shift; completing the daily shift log.
  • Application of safety practices, procedures; reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Working in a team environment within the Process Operations line of progression.
