The Sanitor will clean assigned plant areas and equipment using a combination of dry pickup, hot water and chemicals always following the safe procedures for each chemical and task. Using a combination of chemicals, water, and cleaning tools the sanitor will clean floors, walls, ceilings, and equipment as assigned. Will lock out equipment following SSI Lock-out procedures prior to beginning any equipment cleaning. Communicates any equipment damage or issues to supervisor. Participates in chemical training and strictly follows guidelines, rules, and regulations regarding specific chemicals. Complies with all SSI, federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and policies. Performs other duties as assigned. This position will rotate between multiple areas within the production floor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Complete repetitive tasks for the job. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area. Perform other related duties as assigned. Specific roles include Block Handler (Move boxes/cases from the pallet to the microwave infeed belt, Frequently cut straps and tape from pallets or boxes and dispose of trash accordingly, Remove liner and push the block into position to feed grinder), Stacker (Occasionally sort patties to avoid jams and pile up, Visually inspect and grab stacks of patties, Properly align stacks within the boxes until appropriately filled), Scaler (Check and adjust box weights as needed, Ensure plastic liners completely and securely cover product prior to taping, May conduct box count checks), and Utility (Conduct a safety inspection on pallet jack prior to use according to guidelines, Transport products and trash to and from various locations within the production floor, Pick up and clean meat off from the floor, Manage pallets and other supplies in specified areas).
