Kleinfelder's Environmental team is looking for you! From environmental planning, permitting, remediation, and site characterization to chemical data management and hydrogeology, Kleinfelder offers a variety of services designed to provide technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions. Step into your new role: Kleinfelder is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join our Site Assessment and Remediation (SAR) Team to support project efforts across the mid-Atlantic area. This position is available in our Hanover, MD office. The selected candidate will be capable of working both as an integral team member and at times independently, using knowledge of industry and/or professional guidelines and protocols to accomplish goals and objectives and solve problems of diverse scope. Kleinfelder provides training for all new tasks.

Requirements

  • BS degree in geology or environmental science.
  • 0 to 3- years of related experience in geology, environmental site investigations and remediation and in consulting engineering firms or related service business experience.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize priorities and effectively multi-task.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.

Nice To Haves

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training (a plus but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Technical reports and geological analyses.
  • Coordinate and provide quality control for data collection and review of project results.
  • Phase I ESAs.
  • Phase II ESA field efforts and reporting, including: groundwater sampling. soil vapor sampling. collection and logging of soil samples. oversight of monitoring well installation. waste management.
  • Remediation support, including: O&M of remediation systems (established mechanical aptitude highly desired). perform calculations.
  • Analyzing and interpreting analytical data.
  • Supporting development of technical reports.
