About The Position

Langan is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist to join its Natural Resources team in Parsippany, New Jersey. The role supports natural resource planning, assessment, and permitting for land development and infrastructure projects. The scientist will work cross-functionally with industry leadership and contribute to project assessments, data analysis, documentation, and field services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or Planning.
• 0–2 years of work-related experience.
• Familiarity with current local, state, and federal land-use permitting.
• Strong GIS and AutoCAD skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to occasionally participate in field work and work evenings and/or weekends when necessary.
• Occasional travel to project sites and/or client locations as required; travel may vary with business needs and project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with natural resource planning, assessment, and permitting for land development and infrastructure projects.
• Perform natural resource and permitting compliance assessments and determine project feasibility based on analysis of collected natural-resource data.
• Prepare natural resource assessments and figures using GIS and AutoCAD software.
• Use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess natural resources and their effects on project planning and design.
• Provide field inspection and natural resource identification services as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.
