About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Entry-Level Embedded Software Developer to support their Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) team located in Huntsville, AL. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization and will assist with advanced development of the PAC3 missile defense system. ADaPS, an organization of over 100 software engineers, supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch Systems (SLS) Upper Stage, Satellite Efforts, and Advanced Missile Defense efforts including Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC3). ADaPS specializes in implementing rapid prototyping and development programs using small, adaptable agile teams. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance post-start for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • 1+ years of programming experience using Java, C++, or Python
  • 1+ years of experience or education in computer hardware and software components (processes, memory, interfaces, high order languages) and characteristics (throughput, processing hardware, timing, capacity)
  • Operating system knowledge of LINUX or Windows

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 0 years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of directly related work experience OR 8+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher
  • 1+ years of experience in the software engineering or aerospace engineering industry
  • Experience with embedded systems architecture, design, and debugging
  • Experience with missile defense sensor algorithms or algorithms for digital signal processing
  • Experience with sensor systems for complex conversion of analog and waveform data
  • Experience with optical or electromagnetic (RF - radio frequency) sensing systems
  • Experience with real-time operating systems, e.g. VxWorks
  • Some work experience or knowledge of telemetry protocols and testing

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and fielding of flight software for PAC3 seeker systems
  • Assist with the design and development of test software for PAC3 seeker software
  • Assist with the development firmware and its integration with hardware/software
  • Work in small agile teams composed of diverse engineering skills
  • Use your talents to tackle complex problems on a variety of programs
  • Develop technical products, plans, documentation, and briefings in support of program requirements
