About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join its Aviation Team in Rochester, New York. The role supports the planning and design of airfield and landside improvements that promote safe, efficient, and reliable airport operations. Projects may include runways, taxiways, aprons, access roads, parking facilities, drainage, stormwater systems, and other airport infrastructure. The engineer will build practical experience while working collaboratively with professionals across engineering disciplines and developing technical skills across airport development phases, from planning and design through construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• No experience required.
• Strong theoretical foundation and familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team.

Nice To Haves

• Prior internships and/or relevant coursework.
• Participation in a professional engineering society or organization.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and development of civil engineering solutions for airport infrastructure projects.
• Support senior engineers in preparing technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates.
• Perform engineering calculations and design tasks in accordance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to projects involving runways, taxiways, aprons, access roads, parking facilities, drainage, and other airside and landside improvements.
• Join field assignments with senior staff to observe existing conditions, support data collection, and gain firsthand exposure to airport design and construction.
