About The Position

Stefanini Group is hiring an Entry Level Chemical Technician in Montgomery, AL. This position is 100% ONSITE and involves working the Day Shift (3:00 AM - 12:00 PM). This role is ideal for students of Chemistry or Engineering looking to start their careers. Team members need good interpersonal skills, mechanical aptitude, familiarity with quality systems concepts, and basic IT tool knowledge (e.g., MS Office). The job can be messy and dirty, requiring a suitable candidate. Team members must be available to work rotating shifts, weekends when necessary, travel on a limited basis, and be physically capable of standing for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of experience (candidates with more than 3 years of experience are not being considered).
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with quality systems concepts.
  • Knowledge of basic IT tools (e.g., MS Office).
  • Availability to work rotating shifts.
  • Availability to work weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis.
  • Physically capable of working on feet for extensive periods of time.
  • Computer Skills: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Basic Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis ability.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to obtain their own pair of steel toed boots/shoes.

Responsibilities

  • Testing, operation, and maintenance of paint detackification systems used in automotive component manufacturing.
  • Performing chemical tests and documenting results daily.
  • Adjusting chemistry to maintain and restore the process as needed.
  • Using chemical pumping and controlling systems and manually moving drums of chemistry into application areas using drum dollies.
  • Optimizing separation equipment daily to assist in the removal of paint waste from the process.
  • Adjusting valves and flows of process solutions and separators.
  • Repairing chemical feed pumps and other application equipment.
  • Documenting chemicals used for inventory and cost control.
  • Taking inventory, checking chemical levels, and changing drums/totes as needed.
  • Running jars for each system and performing jar tests.
  • Adjusting feed rates of pumps.
  • Performing washer checks for both shifts daily (5 stages titration).
