About The Position
A Newport Beach litigation firm is seeking a motivated entry-level litigation attorney to join its growing team. The firm represents individuals in complex medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury cases and offers an excellent opportunity for a new attorney to gain hands-on litigation experience. This role provides exposure to all phases of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation. Practicing in personal and serious injury, motor vehicle accidents, defective / dangerous products, medical malpractice, defective medical devices and professional liability. Particularly: Personal Injury Wrongful Death Brain Injury Spinal Cord Injury Burn Injury Swimming Pool Accidents Motor Vehicle Accidents Automobile Accidents Bicycle Accidents Motorcycle Accidents Truck Accidents Medical Malpractice Birth Injury Medication Errors Kaiser Malpractice HIPAA Compliance Privacy Breaches Defective Medical Devices
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admitted to the California State Bar (or pending admission)
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Interest in medical malpractice or personal injury litigation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced litigation environment
Nice To Haves
- Internship, clerkship, or experience in civil litigation
- Exposure to medical malpractice or personal injury law
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Assist with discovery, depositions, and case strategy
- Review and analyze medical records and expert reports
- Assist in preparation for mediations, hearings, and trial
- Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
- Support senior attorneys with case development and litigation strategy
