About The Position

Lead a venture from day zero inside an AI-first venture studio. This is a 6-month fellowship designed for operators who have been close to building a company and are ready to lead one. It's a problem-first studio where you will lead the work of turning a problem into a real company. You will learn by doing customer discovery, market validation, prototype direction, early sales, and investor pitching alongside partners, engineers, and design partners. Gitwit is an AI-first venture studio focused on solving problems and building AI-native companies. They are opening a Northwest Arkansas office in Bentonville and seeking hidden entrepreneurs and operators ready to step into a CEO chair. This fellowship is also an investment in the NWA ecosystem, aiming to strengthen the region's venture leaders and build a stronger next generation of companies.

Requirements

  • Evidence of operating, such as being a founding product manager or first general manager at a startup, running a side venture for years, or shipping real things as a solopreneur.
  • An instinct for what should be a company, with the ability to identify sharp edges in a problem space and differentiate between a feature, a product, and a company.
  • Voracious learners who can figure things out, ramp on new domains fast, and talk to an industry expert today and pitch the same industry tomorrow.
  • Ability to move well in ambiguity and create clarity by doing the work.
  • Taste and a point of view about quality, caring whether something is sharp, useful, and worth a customer's time and money.
  • Founder instinct that hasn't been blunted, with urgency, ownership reflex, and a bias toward action.
  • Desire to be in the room, valuing collaboration, in-person presence, and proximity to customers, partners, and the team.
  • Experience operating in the gravitational field of company-building and readiness to step fully into it.

Responsibilities

  • Leading customer discovery by getting in front of real users and design partners, asking sharp questions, and learning what the market actually says.
  • Doing first-person market research by going deep into a problem space and talking to operators, buyers, and adjacent players.
  • Shaping the product by working closely with engineers, designers, and partners to take a concept from idea to product in users' hands.
  • Running early sales by pitching to design partners and prospective customers, closing them, and learning what makes them say yes, stall, or walk.
  • Building the pitch by sharpening the story for investors, partners, and future hires.
  • Helping decide what's real by sitting at the table when decisions are made about whether a concept becomes a feature, a product, or a company.
  • Operating across the full surface area, jumping between different functions in a single day.
  • Utilizing access to partners, engineers, design partners, and systems that make Gitwit ventures work.
