About The Position

This position is responsible for performing the load in, set-up, operation, load out and maintenance of all types of staging, rigging and other related equipment to be used for all entertainment events. This includes unloading trucks, setting up touring production elements such as stages, boxing rings, basketball courts, and temporary ice rinks. The role also involves performing ground and high rigging, maintaining and operating elevated seating units, and building scenic elements. Additionally, the technician will fabricate and repair metal parts by welding, drive company vehicles, operate fork trucks and lift equipment, assist with training programs, and support other entertainment production tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience working with theatrical staging and rigging equipment, including computer-based systems.
  • Experience with rigging in an arena environment.
  • Must be able to work at 60’ or more as a high rigger and operate equipment at 60’ or more.
  • Experience in theatrical carpentry.
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of professional rigging equipment.
  • Must be certified in the operation of fork trucks, motorized pallet jacks, scissor lifts and boom lifts.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend and climb for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and move all necessary equipment up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work at heights greater than 60’.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Performing the load in, set-up, operation, load out and maintenance of all types of staging, rigging and other related equipment for entertainment events.
  • Unloading trucks and setting up/tearing down touring production elements (e.g., building stages, setting up boxing rings, basketball courts, installing temporary ice rinks).
  • Performing ground, high rigging, and R-1 events.
  • Maintaining, opening, and closing elevated seating units in the arena.
  • Building scenic elements for Entertainment and Special Events departments.
  • Inspecting and maintaining chain hoist inventory.
  • Fabricating and repairing metal parts by welding.
  • Driving vans and trucks up to 24 feet in length.
  • Operating fork trucks and lift equipment.
  • Assisting with training programs.
  • Assisting with any and all entertainment production tasks, as needed.
