About The Position

This is a seasonal position responsible for assisting, supervising, and working with the Entertainment Supervisor to train and lead actors and performers. The role involves developing seasonal and holiday programs, assisting in directing, producing, and designing shows, and maintaining props and costumes. The position also requires assisting in other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Performance skills in theater, improvisation, public speaking, and general A/V awareness.
  • Theatrical skills including directing, producing, and teaching.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to answer incoming calls on a multi-line phone system.
  • Self-driven with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for the park and department’s mission of inclusion, representation, and education.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships in a diverse community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work with special needs individuals in a learning environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be able to move large structures and lift 15 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

  • Cash handling skills are a plus.
  • Artistic skills such as scenic design, painting, drawing, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience leading teams of 10 or more is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the entertainment team in various activities including wandering, meet and greets, main shows, magic shows, costume contests, and dance parties.
  • Act as assistant director, producer, and designer to the Entertainment Supervisor for main shows, magic shows, and dance parties.
  • Facilitate park show & event announcements and assist in music control throughout the park.
  • Oversee sets and props, including setup and takedown.
  • Assist the supervisor in the care and cleaning of costumes, props, and general Entertainment Department inventory.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of performance, such as running sound and lights.
  • Assist the Entertainment Supervisor in the development and execution of seasonal and holiday programs.
  • Assist in booking talent and developing performance schedules for all park productions and events.
  • Provide performance schedules and call times to talent and crew.
  • Act as a point of contact for talent and crew on the day of performance.
  • Manage care and cleaning of costumes.
  • Perform in shows when regular talent is unavailable.
  • Track show attendance numbers and feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned.
