About The Position

We are seeking an Enterprise Technology Solutions Engineer to join Linea Energy on a full-time basis, preferably based in any of our existing office locations: Austin, TX, Chicago, IL, or San Francisco, CA. The successful candidate will own the design, build, and deployment of AI-driven automations and custom internal applications that eliminate manual work across development, legal, finance, GIS, and execution teams. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, software development, and business operations, with a strong emphasis on agentic workflows, LLM-powered automation, and rapid AI-assisted development. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, technically versatile, and comfortable working across disciplines in a fast-paced renewable energy environment, and will also share responsibility for technology operations, administration, and security for the company’s information technology environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, automation engineering, or a related technical role, including hands-on delivery of production automations or applications.
  • Demonstrated experience building AI-powered automations or agentic workflows, including working with LLM APIs (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI), prompt and context design, tool use/function calling, and MCP or comparable integration frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript, with experience building web applications, APIs, and internal tools, and consuming REST/GraphQL APIs and webhooks.
  • Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar).
  • Proficiency with Git and modern version control practices.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure (VMs, App Services, Functions, DevOps, or similar), and with securing service accounts, API keys, and secrets.
  • Comfort troubleshooting technical issues and supporting non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, GIS, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • GIS experience (ArcGIS Pro (Esri Suite), ArcPy, PostGIS, or spatial data libraries).
  • Prior experience in energy development, ideally renewable energy (wind, solar, or storage).
  • Experience with low-code and workflow automation platforms (Power Platform/Power Automate, n8n, Zapier, or similar); administration of enterprise platforms such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce/Sitetracker, or ArcGIS Online/Enterprise; scripting for administrative automation (PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API); and Microsoft or Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, MS-102, AI-102).

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate AI-powered automations and agent-based workflows (using LLM APIs, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and workflow platforms) that connect to the systems where work already happens, such as Sitetracker/Salesforce, SharePoint and Microsoft 365, Notion, financial and data-room platforms, and document repositories. Prioritize automations by business impact and measure hours saved, accuracy, and adoption.
  • Design, build, and maintain custom internal tools and applications using Python and JavaScript that put AI automations in the hands of development, legal, GIS, finance, and execution teams.
  • Leverage modern AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) to rapidly prototype, iterate, and deliver production-quality software, applying appropriate testing, code review, and deployment discipline to AI-generated code.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to identify high-value automation opportunities, map current workflows, gather requirements, and translate business needs into technical solutions. Train and support employees in adopting AI tools and automated workflows.
  • Build and maintain integrations between internal systems of record, cloud services, and third-party platforms using APIs, webhooks, and MCP connectors to streamline data flows and reduce manual processes, with attention to reliability, monitoring, and error handling.
  • Develop or enhance GIS-enabled applications, spatial data pipelines, and automated spatial analyses to support energy project siting, analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintain clean, well-documented codebases using Git, participate in code reviews, and follow best practices for collaborative development, including testing and evaluation of AI-driven workflows.
  • Help define and enforce policies for responsible AI use, including approved tools and models, data classification, handling of confidential project, financial, and counterparty information, prompt-injection and data-leakage safeguards, human-in-the-loop review for high-risk automations, and logging and auditability of automated actions.
  • Deploy and manage applications, automations, and services within Azure cloud environments, including VMs, app services, functions, and data storage, along with access control, cost monitoring (including AI/LLM usage costs), backups, and patching.
  • Serve as a technical resource for select IT operations, help manage the IT consultant, and support escalated end-user technical issues.
  • Apply and help maintain security best practices, including multi-factor authentication, least-privilege access, periodic access reviews, and secure handling of credentials and secrets across applications and cloud resources.
  • Document systems, automations, configurations, and support procedures, and coordinate with third-party IT providers, AI and software vendors on evaluation, licensing, renewals, and issue resolution.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
