About The Position

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Officer leads key aspects of the development, execution, and ongoing enhancement of the Risk Appetite Framework, including coordination of the Annual Review process and risk appetite change management activities. The role partners with Risk Type Owners and other Risk Measurement Program (RMP) stakeholders to drive consistent application of program requirements, evaluate proposed framework changes, and support the evolution of risk appetite governance practices across the enterprise. This position drives critical elements of the design, development, implementation, and oversight of one or more assigned ERM Programs (e.g., Issues Management Program, Risk Measurement Program, Policy Management Program) to support the aligned ERM Risk Program Owner. It supports and facilitates assigned ERM Programs policy and procedure documentation, training, communication, and oversight activities across the enterprise. The role executes key components of the design and delivery of Quality Assurance related to assigned ERM Programs, including the testing strategy, outputs, and reporting for management and/or board level committees to demonstrate program effectiveness. It coordinates with and supports Business Unit Risk Managers (BURMs), Business Unit Chief Risk Officers (BUCROs), and Risk Program Owners to ensure assigned ERM Programs requirements are understood and executed appropriately. The position provides thought leadership, subject matter expertise, and indirect leadership within the broader ERM organization to plan and execute key strategic initiatives related to assigned ERM Programs. It supports critical components of assigned ERM Programs presentation materials for key internal stakeholders (e.g., Business Unit Leadership, BURM Leadership, BUCRO Leadership, Risk Program Owners, Management Committees) and external regulators, including the associated preparation for ERM Leadership team. The role communicates regularly and escalates risks associated with execution of ERM Programs to the applicable ERM Program Managers, ERM Risk Program Owner, and ERM Leadership team. The individual will work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and training.
Ten+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Broad and in-depth knowledge within own professional discipline and other related disciplines.
Sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes.
Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and an understanding of the market and regulatory factors that shape the industry.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences.
Ability to influence others to adopt a new perspective and handle interpersonal issues with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to exercise judgment and sophisticated skills in solving complex technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of business objectives and priorities.

Nice To Haves

Graduate degree in related field.
Extensive experience with enterprise risk management, risk appetite, risk governance, or other enterprise-wide risk management programs, including Board, committee, and regulatory reporting and governance activities.
Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives through influence and partnership across multiple stakeholders, including Risk Type Owners, business units, and governance functions.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, connect enterprise priorities and risk themes to risk appetite governance, and translate complex issues into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
Strong executive-level written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for senior management, management committees, the Board of Directors, regulators, and other governance stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work products in a highly regulated environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience evaluating complex risk information, identifying themes and trends, and developing practical solutions and recommendations.

Responsibilities
