About The Position

This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of Jan 11, and end date of Apr 30, 2027. The Analyst, Enterprise Risk will support the identification and assessment of enterprise-wide Top and Emerging Risks by performing research and analysis, assessing risk impacts to RBC, and assisting with the development of presentations and white papers. This role involves monitoring global economic, geopolitical, societal, technological, and other trends and developments, and contributing to team analyses and publications. The intern will also support the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting of Top and Emerging Risks to senior management and the Board, and assist in updating the enterprise’s Risk Repository. Other duties to support the achievement of the PERM team’s mandate may be required. Through this role, the Analyst, Enterprise Risk will work with a wide variety of groups across the bank, including the Emerging Risk team, the broader PERM team and its Senior Director; other areas of Group Risk Management (GRM), such as Credit Risk, Environmental and Social Risk, and Operational Risk; and other areas of RBC outside GRM, such as individuals from business segments representing the First Line of Defense, Economics, Corporate Treasury, and Enterprise Strategy. The intern will gain a broad understanding of how the bank operates, including the role of its business segments and functional units, and how the bank may be exposed to emerging trends within the industry. They will also develop fundamental knowledge of risk management.

Requirements

  • Working towards a business-related or other relevant university degree.
  • General understanding and awareness of current global events and basic economic concepts.
  • Excellent writing and research skills, strong interpersonal skills, and conceptual thinker.
  • An ability to understand and explain complex concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Must be returning back to school after the work term end-date of Apr 2027; or If graduating in April 2027, must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to successfully graduate.
