About The Position

Requirements

  • At least five years of customer-facing technology project management experience.
  • At least three projects where the contractor worked with technology users and gathered technology requirements, with at least one involving a police department or other law enforcement agency.
  • At least three examples of meaningful work on Requests for Proposals (RFPs), with at least one example as a primary author.
  • Detail-oriented, with a heavy focus on documentation and production support needs post-project.
  • Experience creating Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience working directly with customers and multiple project stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification is preferred but not required if experience substitutes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a project implementation plan and schedule (due within two weeks of project start).
  • Provide a recommended list of stakeholders to interview (due within one month of project start).
  • Create an inventory of technology contracts (due within six weeks of project start).
  • Conduct an assessment of all technology needs (due within two months of project start).
  • Work with multiple stakeholders on an iterative RFP process after completing the initial deliverables.
  • Complete an initial draft of the RFP based on a provided draft template.
  • Participate in four levels of review for the RFP: Police Technology Review, Stakeholder Review, Police Finance Review, and County Procurement Review.
  • Conduct all interviews and meetings onsite, including at least one weekly meeting with the Department’s project manager to review the schedule and identify risks or issues.
  • Complete the first four deliverables and a complete draft RFP within three months of the project kickoff meeting.
