About The Position

The Enterprise Platform Architect with JM Family Enterprises is a senior technical and strategic leader. They provide advice and influence the development of enterprise platform capabilities. Their work ensures that solutions are secure, scalable, and reusable across the organization. The role works closely with platform teams, Business Enablement, and architecture governance bodies. It helps to shape platform standards and reference architecture. The focus is on providing guidance and recommendations. There is no direct ownership or enforcement involved. The Enterprise Platform Architect works closely with the Business Enablement and Platform teams. This includes SecTechOps and OCTO/DevSecOps. They make sure that platform services comply with enterprise architecture principles. They also ensure services align with the cloud strategy and support long-term business goals. The role balances near‑term delivery enablement with long‑term platform sustainability and modernization. This position operates in a hybrid work model based in Deerfield Beach, FL (3 days per week onsite).

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise, platform, solution, or domain architecture roles.
  • Proven experience defining and governing enterprise platform standards, patterns, and reference architectures.
  • Solid background in cloud architecture, with deep hands‑on and design experience in Microsoft Azure preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading or evolving architecture governance and review processes.
  • Experience developing and executing technical debt management strategies and maturity models.
  • Experience with technology and platform lifecycle management, including forecasting and end‑of‑life planning.
  • A solid knowledge of enterprise platforms is important.
  • Familiarity with shared services and integration architectures.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with InfoSec, Business Enablement, Platform, DevSecOps, and application teams.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into platform roadmaps and future‑state architectures.
  • Solid influence and communication skills, with experience engaging senior technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working across multiple business units in a federated enterprise environment.
  • Proficient analytical, systems thinking, and problem‑solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LeanIX, ServiceNow, or enterprise architecture repositories.
  • Experience designing or governing cloud platforms, shared services, and reusable implementation patterns.
  • Background in platform-centric solution architecture (security or infrastructure architecture a plus).
  • Experience in building architecture dashboards.
  • Experience with inventories.
  • Experience with maturity assessments.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform for enterprise tooling, workflow automation, and governance enablement.
  • Experience in supporting large transformation projects, including initiatives for modernization and portfolio rationalization.
  • Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Architecture, or equivalent are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on and influence the development of enterprise platform architectures, including creating reusable patterns, developing reference architectures, and setting technical standards.
  • Collaborate with platform teams and architecture governance bodies to provide guidance on using shared platforms and services (cloud, integration, identity, DevSecOps, data, middleware), assisting teams in aligning with enterprise principles while maintaining delivery autonomy.
  • Work closely with Business Enablement, Information Security, and Platform teams to ensure platform designs meet security standards and are resilient, scalable, and operationally effective.
  • Translate enterprise architecture principles into useful guidance through platform blueprints, decision trees, deployment patterns, and reference examples for consistent team use.
  • Influence and promote the adoption of reusable platform patterns, golden paths, and reference implementations to accelerate delivery and reduce cognitive load for development teams.
  • Support platform teams in evolving standards and patterns by providing enterprise context, cross‑domain insights, and impact analysis.
  • Serve as a senior platform architecture advisor to Business Enablement and Platforms, guiding design decisions, trade‑offs, and roadmap alignment.
  • Support solution and delivery teams by explaining platform capabilities and limitations, discussing integration methods, and providing direction for architectural decisions on complex initiatives involving shared platforms and enterprise services across multiple domains.
  • Provide architectural direction for complex projects that use shared platforms and enterprise services and span across different domains.
  • Influence platform adoption and standardization through collaboration rather than mandate.
  • Document decisions about platform architecture, ensuring they are traceable and meet enterprise security standards.
  • Lead the strategy to reduce technical debt from outdated and unnecessary technologies by identifying issues, prioritizing them, and creating solutions.
  • Develop and maintain platform maturity models, assessment frameworks, and tracking mechanisms, creating dashboards and metrics for visibility into platform health, adoption, and risk.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to embed technical debt considerations into planning and delivery cycles.
  • Lead practices for managing the platform's lifecycle, including forecasting technology needs, assessing supportability, and planning for end-of-life.
  • Ensure architecture repositories and inventories reflect current and future‑state platform roadmaps, supporting planning based on capabilities and providing views focused on the platform, options, and models for future states.
  • Facilitate and lead platform architecture design sessions, reviews, and stakeholder working forums.
  • Partner with engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams throughout design, build, and run phases.
  • Support the transition from architectural guidance to execution through hands‑on collaboration and enablement.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex platform design challenges and cross‑platform integration issues.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex platform and shared service architecture issues.
  • Assist delivery and operations teams in resolving architecture‑related risks, constraints, and dependencies.
  • Operate successfully in a dynamic enterprise environment, balancing short‑term delivery needs with long‑term platform strategy.
