About The Position

It's a 12-week paid summer internship where students apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, with a balance of networking, executive speakers, community involvement, significant projects, and social activities. The HP Supply Chain Organization is a leader in sustainable technology. Supply Chain Interns gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the supply chain, optimizing processes using the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model. Internships are available for students in Engineering and Business degree programs, with positions in Sourcing, Logistics, Planning, Materials/Inventory Management, Manufacturing Operations, Sustainability, Digital Transformation, Returns, and Order Fulfillment. Interns will gain Supply Chain fundamentals for a successful career. Success indicators include functional/technical expertise, digital savvy, business and financial acumen, emotional intelligence, resilience, information processing capability, commitment to the role, team and organizational leadership, and executive communication.

Requirements

  • Currently eligible to work in the US.
  • Will not require work authorization sponsorship in the future.
  • 3rd Year of Bachelor's degree completed or 1st year of Master's program completed.
  • Typically a technical degree specialization.
  • Must be enrolled full time at an accredited university.
  • Able to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2027, and not require sponsorship in the future.
  • Pillars of software specialization: Software Developer: Coding/Tools/Knowledge Areas: Java, Python, C++, React JS, Node JS, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, Azure DevOps and AWS CodePipeline, Splunk observability tools (RUM, APM, Log Observer). Backend Systems: Python, C/C++/ Linux Development, GIT, Basic circuit design, Cryptography, Test-Driven Design(TDD), Unit test frameworks. Cloud Infrastructure: Go language, AWS services (EKS, EB, EC2, AWS Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, Cloud Formation 2), Linux, bash scripts, RabbitMQ, Apache ActiveMQ, Apache Kafka, networking, DNS management, firewall policies, Spunk, Prometheus, Cloudwatch, Kibana, Grafana. Data Privacy: Intermediate skills with Microsoft tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Knowledge of industry standards for data privacy. Data Science and Analytics: Python, Splunk, SQL, Data Structures, Data Analysis, Automation and AI, Jira, Power BI, Excel and Data, forecasting, modeling, software development. Firmware Developer: Firmware/Software development, C++, GHE, GitHub, Debugging, Quality Testing, Software Development Lifecycle. Cyber Security: Python, Java Script, SQL, encryption algorithms, authentication protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, attack vectors, Linux and Windows, networking concepts; TCP/IP. Mobile Applications Developer: Apple and/or Android Mobile Application related languages (Swift, Objective C, Kotlin, Java, etc.). System Validation Engineer: Software Quality Assurance (SQA), Coding Language (Understanding of code architecture: C, Python, Java), Agile Development (Lean, Scrum, DevOps), Project Management, Data Analysis and Reporting, Computer Architecture, Office365. Systems Integration and Design: Ruby-on-Rails, Java, Angular, AWS, GO, Familiarity with Test-Driven-Development, printing system architectures, embedded systems, client/server infrastructure, networking technologies, Windows, MAC, Linux operating systems. UX Design: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing and mapping current supply chain processes using the SCOR model framework.
  • Identify areas for improvement and propose recommendations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction in Sourcing and Logistics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (planning, procurement, production, logistics, returns, customer service, operations) to gather data and insights for process optimization.
  • Support the implementation of supply chain improvement initiatives (inventory management, demand planning, order fulfillment).
  • Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging trends in supply chain management for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting to measure KPIs and track initiative progress.
  • Review and analyze whether new supply chain concepts supporting an Integrated Supply Chain (e.g., Just In Sequence) should be adopted by HP.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions related to supply chain management and process improvement.
  • Conduct sourcing market research to identify potential new innovative products or categories for HP.
  • Design a sustainability initiative independently or in conjunction with other business functions (e.g., Packaging suppliers, Logistics/Transportation suppliers).
  • Identify and implement new, innovative quality control processes and procedures for component suppliers.
  • Conduct market research to propose and implement potential new technologies for supply chain optimization.
  • Apply analytics to develop data-driven solutions and financial/operational models for complex problems.
