About The Position

The Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the architectural standards of the organization’s Snowflake-based healthcare data platform. This role establishes the technical foundation that ensures scalability, performance, auditability, and trust across enterprise data domains including Finance, Growth, Care, and Talent. This is a strategic technical leadership role focused on long-term platform reliability, AI-readiness, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-wide data consistency. The architect partners closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, Governance, and Application teams to ensure the platform can support operational reporting, advanced analytics, and AI-driven use cases.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or platform architecture roles
  • Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake or comparable modern cloud data platforms, including performance tuning and cost optimization
  • Strong expertise in dimensional modeling and enterprise data modeling, preferably within healthcare or regulated data environments
  • Demonstrated experience designing data contracts, interface standards, and SLA frameworks across multiple source systems
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data domains, such as clinical, claims, membership, financial, or regulatory datasets
  • Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineering, Analytics, Governance, and business leadership
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering or a related field OR additional experience above the minimum will be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basis required
  • A minimum of 8 years of IT-related work experience required

Responsibilities

  • Define and govern enterprise data architecture standards across bronze, silver, and gold layers, ensuring consistent design patterns, separation of concerns, and scalability across domains
  • Establish and maintain modeling frameworks, including dimensional models, canonical data models, and point-in-time snapshot strategies to support analytics, regulatory reporting, and machine learning
  • Design and formalize data contract standards for upstream and downstream systems (e.g., EMR, payors, CMS, clearinghouses), including schema expectations, change management, and validation rules
  • Define data freshness, SLA, and performance patterns, balancing latency, cost, and reliability for operational, analytical, and executive reporting workloads
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Data Governance to embed data quality controls, reconciliation checks, lineage, and auditability directly into ingestion and transformation pipelines
  • Lead Snowflake performance optimization and scalability design, including warehouse strategy, clustering, partitioning, and cost-aware architecture patterns
  • Provide architectural oversight and design review for high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, long-term roadmap, and AI/ML readiness
  • Guide AI-ready data architecture by ensuring high-quality features, consistent snapshots, and governed datasets suitable for advanced analytics and LLM-enabled workflows
  • Mentor and coach engineering teams on architectural best practices, modeling techniques, and design tradeoffs, raising the overall technical maturity of the organization
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior leaders, translating business needs into durable architectural solutions and influencing cross-functional alignment
