About The Position

The Enterprise Data Analyst will develop and maintain MP Materials’ reporting and analytics portfolio in collaboration with the broader analytics team. As a member of the corporate financial planning and analysis team, the analyst will support finance, manufacturing, and other functional teams in developing and analyzing key performance indicators, resource allocation, and future planning. The role involves working with diverse, large-scale data sources to produce insights and support data-driven decision-making, with an emphasis on automated solutions, reliable reporting, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or in manufacturing data analytics.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, operational KPIs, and cost structures.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
Advanced SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, and complex relationship handling; proficiency in DAX; or proficiency in KNIME or another recognized analytical workflow automation tool.
Ability to work with large, complex datasets from multiple sources and deliver clear, actionable insights.
Highly analytical, intellectually curious, and a fast learner.
Ability to identify objectives, collect and process data, analyze and interpret results, and present conclusions and recommendations.
Self-directed, highly collaborative, and able to handle a variety of responsibilities.
Ability to work with people at all organizational levels, including senior management.
Ability to work with internal customers and external agencies on compliance and controls.
Strong verbal and written presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a publicly traded company.
Experience with SAP.
Experience with OneStream or Palantir.
Familiarity with, or keen interest in learning about, mining, manufacturing, and industrial processes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand analytical needs, define requirements, and translate business questions into actionable insights, prioritizing fully automated solutions.
Analyze and interpret multifaceted datasets to identify key drivers, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Present conclusions and recommendations while clearly distinguishing fact from opinion.
Support the development of enterprise-level analytics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain dashboards, workflows, and other recurring weekly reports.
Integrate and analyze large, disparate data sources to uncover insights and support data-driven decision-making.
Establish and maintain data quality standards, validation processes, and reporting controls for accurate, consistent, and reliable manufacturing and financial reporting.
Manage aspects of the analytical architecture and collection of manufacturing data.
Acquire and work with disparate data sources.
Perform other duties as assigned.
