About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineering, C2, and Networks Architect to join the Corporate Growth, Enterprise Capabilities and Solutions team. This role involves providing technical leadership for competitive pursuits, developing differentiated service offerings, architectures, and technical strategies in mission systems engineering, command and control, and intelligence and defense applications. The architect will collaborate with capture teams, growth leaders, sector CTOs, and SMEs to shape opportunities, develop solutions, and contribute to winning contracts. This position is ideal for individuals energized by high-stakes technical challenges and who want to see their work directly impact contract wins.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, systems engineering, or related field, and 16+ years of industry experience OR 14+ years with a Master’s OR 10+ years with a PhD
  • Deep expertise in systems engineering principles and methodologies aligned to INCOSE and DoD systems engineering frameworks, with demonstrated experience applying them across the full defense acquisition lifecycle
  • Proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, or MATLAB/Simulink to design, analyze, and communicate complex mission system architectures
  • Demonstrated experience designing and integrating C4ISR systems and mission applications, with working knowledge of DoDAF viewpoints and their application to mission architecture development
  • Working knowledge of interoperability standards including tactical data links such as Link 16, and experience designing systems that operate across multi-domain environments
  • Experience with real-time and embedded systems engineering for mission-critical applications, including sensor fusion and multi-domain data integration across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains
  • Demonstrated experience with digital engineering practices and model-based design applied across defense acquisition programs
  • Direct experience supporting federal government customers in a contractor environment, with a working understanding of mission requirements, acquisition processes, and the competitive federal market
  • Proven experience contributing to competitive federal pursuits, including technical solution development, architecture design, or competitive positioning in support of capture or proposal efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex mission engineering concepts into compelling solution narratives for capture teams, executive leadership, and government evaluators
  • A demonstrated bias for action and a track record of delivering technical work that contributed directly to competitive wins
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance

  • Direct experience in capture management, proposal development, or technical volume leadership on large-scale, competitive federal mission systems or defense acquisition bids
  • Experience with Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) architecture, cross-domain integration, and the technical frameworks that enable multi-domain operations at scale
  • Familiarity with autonomous systems design and human-machine teaming architectures for contested and operationally demanding environments
  • Experience with space systems architecture including proliferated low earth orbit (pLEO) constellation integration and space-ground link design for mission applications
  • Working knowledge of AI-enabled mission systems and algorithm-driven decision support architectures operating at the tactical edge in degraded or contested environments
  • Experience designing resilient and survivable communications architectures for denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) operational environments
  • Familiarity with digital twin modeling applied to mission systems testing, simulation, and operational readiness assessment across the defense acquisition lifecycle
  • Working knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and open systems architecture principles aligned to DoD acquisition policy and program office expectations
  • Experience presenting mission system architectures and technical solutions directly to senior government customers, program offices, or operational commands
  • Prior experience developing competitive positioning materials, technical discriminators, or solution playbooks that supported pursuit efforts in the federal mission systems or defense market
  • Relevant certifications such as INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), defense acquisition certifications aligned to DAU or DoD 5000 series programs, PMP, or relevant domain-specific defense technology credentials

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Peraton Enterprise Capabilities and Solutions Portfolio for mission systems engineering, command and control, and intelligence and defense applications from strategy through execution, ensuring alignment with business priorities, technical soundness, and competitiveness across Peraton's customer markets.
  • Collaborate directly with capture teams, sector growth leaders, and SMEs to shape Mission Engineering solutions from early opportunity identification through proposal submission.
  • Develop technical discriminators, solution narratives, and competitive positioning materials to support enterprise-wide capture and proposal efforts, with deep credibility in mission systems engineering, command and control architecture, and intelligence and defense applications.
  • Design and develop scalable, reusable mission engineering service offerings, architectures, and technical frameworks to provide Peraton's sector teams with a competitive edge on federal pursuits.
  • Continuously evolve the portfolio by analyzing capability gaps, technology readiness, and market trends in mission systems, defense acquisition, and national security requirements to identify portfolio enhancements and competitive differentiation opportunities.
  • Provide thought leadership and author white papers and other solution artifacts to support customer engagement efforts, highlighting newly developed frameworks and Peraton Labs applicable technologies.
  • Partner with sector growth teams, business stakeholders, and engineering leadership to translate market opportunities into viable, differentiated service offerings.
  • Drive the design and architecture of services across the portfolio, ensuring each service is fully defined with supporting sales assets, cost models, and solution guides for sector teams.
  • Present technical strategies, mission architecture roadmaps, and solution recommendations to customers, capture teams, and executive leadership to drive decisions.
  • Engage with key customers, industry partners, and technology vendors to stay informed about evolving mission requirements, emerging defense capabilities, and competitive dynamics within Peraton's national security customer base.
