About The Position

Join the largest financial institution on Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Discovery islands, and North Central BC as our Enterprise Business Analyst, where you’ll play a strategic role in shaping enterprise initiatives. In this position, you will drive clarity, alignment, and informed decision-making across our project portfolio, helping ensure initiatives are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with our overall strategy. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Planning & Projects, the Enterprise Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in advancing enterprise initiatives by partnering with business leaders and project teams across the organization. This role leads the intake and analysis of initiatives, clarifies scope, and develops high-quality requirements and supporting documentation to guide solution design and delivery. Acting as a key connector across functions, you will surface risks, dependencies, and opportunities. You will also contribute to prioritization and portfolio alignment, supporting informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Completion of a college diploma or university degree in a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may also be considered.
  • Business Analysis certification (e.g., IIBA ECBA/CBAP) or Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar analytical role, preferably in a project or business analysis environment.
  • Demonstrated experience eliciting and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship‑building skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); familiarity with project and portfolio tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience applying established business analysis practices or frameworks (e.g., BABOK or equivalent) is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to define and maintain initiative scope, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and success criteria.
  • Support project planning and execution by providing high-quality business analysis and requirements artifacts.
  • Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business needs, translating them into clear, structured requirements (e.g., BRDs, user stories).
  • Conduct root cause, gap, and impact analysis to support problem definition and solution design.
  • Support portfolio intake, feasibility assessment, and prioritization to align initiatives with enterprise strategy.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and impacts to scope, timeline, and delivery, and support informed decision-making.
  • Act as a liaison across business, technology, and project teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
  • Support testing and validation by defining acceptance criteria and confirming solutions meet business requirements.
  • Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability and governance, ensuring alignment from initial business need through to implementation and post-delivery validation.
