The Enterprise Architect will define the enterprise architecture vision aligned with defense programs, product lifecycle, and mission readiness. This role involves developing long-term architecture roadmaps supporting digital thread/digital twin initiatives, engineering-to-manufacturing integration, and sustainment and lifecycle management. The architect will also align IT strategy with program-based funding models and contract structures, architect end-to-end integration across various systems (PLM, ERP, MES), enable Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital thread continuity, and support configuration management, BOM integrity, and traceability. Additionally, the role includes designing architecture for smart factory/Industry 4.0 initiatives, predictive maintenance, MRO platforms, and integrating IoT/edge computing. Ensuring compliance with ITAR, CMMC, NIST 800-53, and DoDAF, implementing Zero Trust architectures, and supporting classified/unclassified environment separation are critical. The architect will establish governance, lead architecture review boards, ensure platform reuse, support bid and proposal activities, define technical baselines, and collaborate with program managers. A key focus is defining the enterprise data strategy for engineering, manufacturing, and sustainment data, implementing API-led and event-driven integration, and enabling secure data sharing across partners and government entities. This role operates within highly regulated, security-sensitive environments, balancing program-specific customization with enterprise standardization, supporting long lifecycle systems, and integrating engineering rigor with enterprise IT strategy.
