About The Position

Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining Enterprise Architecture (EA) principles, policies, and standards and for leading the integration of these principles and standards with other related business and IT processes. This position provides direction in all architecture domains in support of current and future IT operations, Federal, State and Departmental regulations, and compliance with defined architecture principles, standards and models. EA is accountable for the development, direction, performance, ongoing maintenance, and evolution of NC DHHS’ Business, Application, Data, Technology, Integration and Security architecture frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and six years of progressive experience in all areas of information technology architectural components, interfaces and their applications or related work
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and seven years of progressive experience in all areas of information technology architectural components, interfaces and their applications or related work
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Documented knowledge reviewing, guiding, and supporting enterprise-wide IT projects and IT procurements governed by enterprise architecture
  • Documented skill in establishing and upholding state-wide enterprise architecture principles, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency, interoperability, security, and optimization
  • Develop/ Implement Enterprise Standards, Framework, Cloud Strategy, Cloud Governance/Principles Framework
  • Relevant experience in the development of policies, standards, and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation, and use of Information Technology within the enterprise
  • Foster innovation and implement creative out-of-the-box ideas by conducting brainstorming sessions, hackathons and other innovation events and elevate the thinking
