This is an 11-week internship program for Summer 2026, running from June 1st to August 14th. The program includes site visits, weekly IKE sessions with senior leadership, skills workshops, weekly coffee chats, coffee with the CEO, final projects and presentations, and engagement events.

Requirements

  • Strong financial and analytical acumen to make strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to think critically in order to drive business decisions with the use of data and analytics.
  • Advanced understanding of the application of statistical/ML modeling.
  • Strong communication skills translating complex analyses to non-technical audiences.
  • Able to work hybrid schedule in Marlborough, MA. Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
  • Actively enrolled in an undergraduate program, masters program, etc.
  • Can-do attitude with a willingness to roll-up your sleeves and learn.
  • Agile and eager to work with diverse stakeholders and tasks.
  • Collaborative and able to influence without authority.
  • Strong communication skills and able to work cross functionally.
  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Email) required.

  • Recognize the growing role of AI tools, including ChatGPT, and value familiarity with them.

Responsibilities

  • Research and assessment will be based on a data driven approach considering the intersection of pricing and promotions.
  • Research and assessment will also include all relevant and available data sources including BJ’s competitive pricing position, Category roles, Member shopping behavior, Syndicated data providers, member research, etc...
  • Research, assess, and support the development and implementation of a category role framework within the Company. Category roles represent the foundational framework for the Company’s “go to market” assortment plans including price, promo, product, and placement.
  • Be a thought partner in not only the development but the rollout and implementation of category roles across merchant leadership and enterprise analytics.
  • Research, assess, and support the development and implementation of robust membership engagement strategies that drive membership retention, engagement, and higher Lifetime Value.
  • Partner with existing Membership Analytics and Marketing leadership to harness data and turn it into action through the development of segmented and targeted marketing programs.
  • In partnership with the Enterprise Analytics team, be the data-driven thought leader in the formulation of analytics and transforming data to insights and action.
  • Enable the sharing of data, resources, business knowledge, analytical skills, tools and technology in conjunction with senior leaders within the Enterprise Analytics team.
  • Works cross-functionally across the Enterprise Analytics team to support the achievement of the team’s other HLO’s, as needed.
