About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Enrollment Counselor in Boca Raton, FL. This position plays a vital role in providing a positive first impression of FAU as families enter the lobby of the Office of Admissions and support in-person customer service and recruitment efforts. The Enrollment Counselor will troubleshoot and support the recruitment, onboarding, and enrollment of new students. They will counsel and advise prospective students, applicants, and family members about admissions requirements, application status, and other opportunities at Florida Atlantic University. This role involves partnering and collaborating with staff and faculty in Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Enrollment Management & Student Success for recruitment, onboarding, and enrollment of new students. The counselor will communicate with students in one-on-one and small group sessions, support all on-campus recruitment events, including Open Houses and other divisional events, and regularly communicate with potential students leveraging a variety of communication sources and strategies. The position requires managing multiple simultaneous priorities while continuing to provide great service and accurate information, and providing guidance to first-generation, prospective, and current students on policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and support the recruitment, onboarding, and enrollment of new students.
