About The Position

Enrollment Counselors actively recruit prospective international and domestic students for the doctoral, graduate and professional studies programs at Rivier University. This is accomplished by executing a variety of methods; telephone outreach, interviews, counseling, application review and participating in various recruitment-related special events and projects are all significant functions of this position. This person is a results-oriented enrollment professional who always represents and promotes Rivier University in a manner that advances the enrollment goals of the University.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in higher education admissions, sales or equivalent experience
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel and similar software analysis tools to be able to manipulate data sets and quickly analyze enrollment trends and opportunities. Basic familiarity with social media applications a plus
  • Familiarity with student computer information systems and an understanding that the role of technology in recruitment and operations is a major key to success
  • An ability and aptitude to work independently and responsibly using strong decision-making ability and the skill to prioritize competing opportunities and needs in a busy environment
  • The ability to travel when needed and to load and transport admissions materials, displays, and other equipment; occasional nights and weekends will be required
  • Ability to work independently as well as in groups and prioritize work to best achieve goals
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and build positive working relationships with students, colleagues, administrators, and business constituencies of all levels
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations

Responsibilities

  • Represent the University both on-and off-campus within your assigned territory to prospective students, employers, college admissions counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
  • Fulfill all aspects of the recruiting process for prospective students in academic programs and territories to fulfill the enrollment goals of Rivier University.
  • Successfully complete in-person, telephone and electronic contact with prospective students to help and encourage them to understand policies and procedures and complete all admission processes utilizing available technology.
  • Coordinate and plan recruiting activities for the assigned territory
  • Make public presentations related to recruitment initiatives on campus, and at off campus locations.
  • Work collaboratively with Rivier Online Regional Field Managers to maximize Rivier University presence at off campus recruitment events.
  • Review admissions applications, complete transfer credit review, and determine admission decision action for both Rivier Online and on campus applicants for doctoral, graduate and undergraduate applicants.
  • Plan and work collaboratively with admissions staff as well as other areas with the goal of maximizing the overall effectiveness of recruiting students.
  • Maintain strong understanding of current programs, policies, and procedures including: academic programs, financial aid policies, business office policies, nursing licensure qualifications and processes, state educational certifications, and international student application requirements.
  • Monitor, understand and analyze recruitment-related data, reports and other quantitative information to identify progress and potential areas of focus or improvement at each stage of the admissions funnel from inquiry through enrollment.
  • Meet the enrollment expectations/goals for assigned recruiting segments (assigned by programs/territories and/or delivery methods) in relation to budgetary goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with administrative and academic areas at Rivier as appropriate to best achieve enrollment goals.
  • Support and maintain the mission and strategic goals of Rivier University as appropriate.
