About The Position

This structured 26-week transition program is designed for newly graduated Enrolled Nurses, as well as Enrolled Nurses who have not recently worked in the acute sector. The program provides an opportunity to consolidate and refine your knowledge, confidence and clinical skills while gaining valuable experience in an acute healthcare environment. Working under the direction and supervision of Registered Nurses, you will provide person-centred care, develop your clinical practice and contribute as a valued member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Registered or eligible for registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
  • Completed an approved program of study that includes administration of medicines if administering medications.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Recognise and report changes in clinical condition.
  • Provide safe, person-centred care.
  • Bring an understanding of the Enrolled Nurse role.
  • Commitment to developing clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing learning and evidence-based practice.
  • A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) is required.
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check is required.
  • Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A.
  • SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
