About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking enthusiastic, passionate certified professionals to serve as Enrichment Teachers in our in-person Power Scholars Academy Summer Program in the Henrico area at Dumbarton Elementary. This part-time position starts in June and ends in mid July. This position is $30 per hour and has the opportunity to be up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

At least three years of related experience.
High school graduate.
18 years of age.
At least six months experience working with youth.
Excellent verbal, written, organizational and technological skills.
Strong relationship building, mentoring, communication and leadership skills.
Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and service to diverse populations.
Proof of education (high school diploma/equivalent, unofficial college transcripts, college/university diploma, teaching certification).

Responsibilities

Develop relevant lessons.
Ensure academic and social development of scholars.
Identify scholar needs and create original instructional plans.
Monitor scholars' progress and make adjustments.
Create a safe and productive learning environment.
Provide mentorship to Assistant Teachers and volunteers.
Supervise scholars in in-person day to day activities as well as special functions, such as virtual field trips.
