About The Position

This position is for an ENL Instructional Assistant at Fishers High School, reporting to the Principal and ENL Coach and Coordinator. The role involves supporting students and teachers within the ENL program, adhering to federal legislation requirements for paraprofessionals, and contributing to a positive and professional work environment.

Requirements

• An associate of arts degree
• Two years of college (48 credit hours)
• Pass the ParaPro exam (state assessment test for knowledge of an ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing and math)
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to proficiently aid teacher.
• Ability to work well with staff and students.
• Be prepared for the workday.
• Understand Wida Can Do Standards.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching License Preferred

Responsibilities

• Instruct students under the supervision of the ENL Coach, ENL Collaborative Teacher and Classroom Teacher.
• Communicate instructional needs to appropriate classroom teacher(s).
• Work with groups of students within the classroom.
• Follow service schedule for the year, being flexible with changes as necessary.
• Any other related duties as may be assigned by the building principal or ENL Collaborative Teacher.
