About The Position

Planted Earth is a residential landscape contracting and maintenance company that installs and maintains premier landscapes across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The Enhancement Crew Member assists with residential landscape enhancements, improvements, and renovation projects, working with a Crew Leader and team members to meet the company’s quality standards. The role involves planting and preparing beds and lawns, following horticultural practices, operating and maintaining landscaping tools and equipment, and keeping job sites and vehicles clean and organized. Entry-level candidates are welcome; prior professional landscaping, gardening, or horticulture experience is a plus but is not required. The position requires physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for gardening.
Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in professional landscaping, gardening, or horticulture.
Experience planting trees, shrubs, and other landscape materials.
Basic understanding of landscape installation techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities

Assist with residential landscape enhancements and improvements, including planting trees, shrubs, perennials, and seasonal plants.
Prepare planting beds and lawns through soil preparation, digging planting holes, mulching, edging, and installing sod or seed.
Assist with landscape renovations, plant replacements, and other enhancement projects as directed by the Crew Leader.
Follow proper planting and horticultural practices to support plant health and long-term landscape performance.
Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power equipment, and other landscaping equipment.
Keep equipment and tools maintained, fueled, and ready for daily use.
Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites, vehicles, and equipment.
Participate in company training and follow established safety procedures.
Work with the Crew Leader and team members to complete projects efficiently and to Planted Earth's quality standards.
