About The Position

Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Enhanced Mobile Crisis Responder to join our 24-hour Emergency Services team. In this role, you’ll bring mental health crisis support directly into the community, providing assessment, intervention, stabilization, referrals, and follow-up to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Working as part of a collaborative mobile response team, you’ll help people access the right level of care while supporting stabilization in the community whenever clinically appropriate.

Requirements

  • Experience in crisis intervention, mental health, or behavioral health services.
  • Strong assessment, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively in complex and rapidly changing situations.
  • Comfort working with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Bachelor’s Degree; or equivalent combination of related education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mobile mental health crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and follow-up.
  • Respond collaboratively with team members, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Connect individuals with appropriate treatment, resources, and ongoing supports.
  • Coordinate inpatient psychiatric care when clinically necessary.
  • Promote safe, person-centered alternatives to hospitalization whenever appropriate.
