Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English/Education
• Valid PA teaching certification in English 7-12 certification
• Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Proven ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Experience with classroom management and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction.
• Passion for literature and language, with a desire to inspire students to achieve their full potential.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the overall success of the school community.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and district curriculum.
• Teach a variety of English courses, including literature, composition, and language arts, adapting instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and standardized tests, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation.
• Utilize technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Participate in school events, committees, and extracurricular activities to foster a strong school community.
• Support students in developing critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills essential for success in higher education and beyond.
