About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time English and Social Studies Teacher to provide one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor instruction to each student’s needs and learning style and guide students toward mastery using a gradual-release approach that builds confidence and academic success. The role offers a flexible schedule and requires no lesson planning, parent conferences, or outside grading. Brightmont Academy provides professional development opportunities. Compensation is $22–$23 per hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, including a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge with students.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Orton-Gillingham training.
- Teaching certification; not required.
- Advanced degree in a subject area of expertise.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
