About The Position
This position is full-time, 35 hours per week. Oakside Prep Academy, located in Waterford Township, MI, opened in 2013 and serves students K-12. The academy offers a unique K-12 environment, fostering collaboration among staff, and provides a supportive coaching model with new staff paired with a teacher mentor. Requirements
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
- Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual skills, preferred.
- Previous experience working with English as a second language students or with school-aged children, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess English Language Learner student abilities and provide academic intervention to scholars who are eligible for language support services in either 1:1 or group workshops as directed by the classroom teacher and academic intervention team.
- Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
- Attend professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
