About The Position
The Adjunct Faculty member delivers high-quality instruction and creates meaningful learning experiences that support students’ achievement of course objectives. The role includes developing lectures, labs, and assessments; maintaining accurate student and course records; and complying with institutional and program requirements. This is an in-person position at South College. The instructor may also travel to clinical sites to visit students, as required.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in English, with successful completion of at least 18 hours of directly related graduate coursework.
Nice To Haves
- Terminal degree preferred.
- Prior successful online teaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lectures, labs, and assignments aligned with course objectives.
- Prepare and submit course syllabi according to South College standards and deadlines, and obtain approval before posting them on Canvas.
- Follow approved course outlines and use designated textbooks and materials.
- Grade papers, tests, and other evaluations promptly and provide timely feedback to students.
- Complete and submit required documentation, including attendance rosters, competency forms, and grade sheets, within established timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, including grade calculation worksheets and keyed copies of final exams.
- Manage classroom and online activities effectively while maintaining a professional and supportive learning environment.
- Remain accessible to students for academic questions and assistance.
- Travel to clinical sites to visit students, as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
