Requirements

  • Vocational or Technical Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Direct and advise personnel in special test procedures to analyze components and physical properties of materials.
  • Compile and analyze test information to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment and to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Confer with engineers to conduct analyses, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
  • Adjust formulas and processes based on test results.
  • Test and analyze sample products.
  • Prepare test protocols for use by laboratory personnel in conducting tests.
  • Conduct research to develop custom products and investigate complaints on existing products.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet testing schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve testing procedures and use of equipment.
  • Analyze and resolve, or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintain time and testing records.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and diagnose issues for test instrumentation to provide accurate test data for engineers.
  • Specify and submit purchase requisitions for test equipment.
