About The Position

Responsible for conducting performance, reliability and safety testing on refrigerators and compressors. This role works closely with engineering to ensure standards are followed during test setup, execution and reporting. The person should have 2 years’ experience in lab testing environment with demonstrated attention to detail and communication. Interpret test standards to confirm setup and appropthe riate method to use to determine test stability, valid test and produce test summary report per ISO 17025 Lab Quality Manual. Person needs to obtain universal refrigerant certification to perform testing on compressors. This role will also support airflow and UL testing. Move engineering samples between the test area, preparation area, and storage areas

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in laboratory environments with increasing responsibility, including troubleshooting Appliances, test stations, or similar complex equipment.
  • 2 year technical degree or military equivalent.
  • Universal refrigerant certification.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for unit setup with lab testing fixtures.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Thermal Engineering Test Procedures (ETPs).
  • Thorough understanding of standards (ETP, UL, AHAM, CFR, ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • Conducting performance, reliability and safety testing on refrigerators and compressors.
  • Working closely with engineering to ensure standards are followed during test setup, execution and reporting.
  • Applying technical expertise and knowledge of appliances, specialized test environment equipment & software, and related industry standards to review test plans.
  • Modifying test setups as required and calibrating test environment.
  • Interpreting test standards to confirm setup and appropriate method to use to determine test stability, valid test and produce test summary report per ISO 17025 Lab Quality Manual.
  • Obtaining universal refrigerant certification to perform testing on compressors.
  • Supporting airflow and UL testing.
  • Moving engineering samples between the test area, preparation area, and storage areas.
  • Supporting hands-on lab operations, including movement and management of large appliances (refrigerators, automatic icemakers and large Monogram refrigerators).
  • Ensuring safe work practices and mentoring others on proper handling.
