This is a hands-on position that requires a broad understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes. Responsibilities include the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated equipment. Support will involve a wide range of fab equipment used in backend processing, including grinding, polishing, bonding/mounting, glassing, laser scribing, wet benches, chemical processing systems, quick dump rinses (QDRs), etching, metrology tools, and other related equipment. Perform daily sustaining engineering activities, including lot disposition, SPC monitoring, and investigation of out-of-control conditions. Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) is required. Monitor key process parameters to ensure process stability, recognize and investigate process deviations, disposition out-of-specification products, and perform problem-solving activities to address yield loss and line loss issues. Understand equipment operation and process interactions and identify potential equipment or process issues through observation and data analysis. Assist with new equipment startups, qualifications, and process baseline development for both new and existing tools. Identify and address throughput constraints related to equipment, processes, materials, and operating procedures. Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and other support organizations to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements. Maintain ownership of assigned tools and processes, including documentation, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and performance monitoring.
