About The Position

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician in Middletown, RI. This role supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics, and logic systems. The technician will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions. They will assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions and will collect, maintain, organize, compile, and manipulate technical data. The role also involves preparing engineering documentation, reports, and drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.). The position receives limited supervision, with no instructions needed on routine work and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.

Requirements

• AA Degree in related discipline and two (2) years related experience; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Must have ability to obtain up to SECRET level clearance.
• Production cable building experience.
• Experience wiring electronics.
• Background in reading schematics/drawings and troubleshooting from schematics/drawings.

Nice To Haves

• MK695 torpedo test system experience or familiarity.
