We are seeking a Senior Engineering Technician at our LitePoint location in San Jose, CA, to support engineering activities such as test, modification of mechanical and electrical boards, fabrication of prototype mechanical chassis and front panels.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience
  • Associate degree, or vocational or technical school degree or relevant experience
  • Basic electrical engineering theory.
  • Can read and understand electrical schematics diagrams.
  • Hands-on set-up and testing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with assembly tools.
  • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate computer skills like programming software, graphic drawing, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Teamwork oriented.
  • Soldering electrical parts.
  • Handing PCB`s modifications/rework.
  • Familiarity with machine shop practices, including knowledge of materials and operation of common machine shop equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Rework mechanical and electrical boards per engineering requirements. Find solutions to challenging mechanical assemblies into temporary chassis.
  • Assembly of prototype systems that includes modules, electrical boards into chassis. Assembly of experimental circuitry.
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, and trouble-shooting functions.
  • Program boards, modules and systems.
  • Perform final system test to ensure assembly is correct.
  • Provide assembly feedback to mechanical engineering.
  • Manage Lab supplies.
