About The Position

We are looking for an Engineering Technician who will provide hands-on support to engineering and technical teams throughout the prototype development lifecycle, including assembly, testing, documentation, and lab operations. This role assists in the preparation, fabrication, and validation of prototype systems, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, safety standards, and established procedures. The Engineering Technician supports testing activities by setting up equipment, collecting and recording data, and maintaining accurate documentation. Additionally, the Engineering Technician contributes to lab organization, inventory management, and coordination of materials and equipment to meet program timelines. Working under direct supervision, the Engineering Technician ensures efficient, high-quality execution of development and testing activities while gaining foundational technical experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, at minimum, is required at start
  • Zero (0) to two (2) years of relevant experience in an engineering lab or other technical environment, or an internship, vocational, or hands-on training experience is required
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience in using basic hand tools and equipment such as hand trucks, crowbars, carts, etc., is required
  • Ability to follow established procedures for handling classified or sensitive security protocols is required
  • Ability to follow technical instructions or schematics is required
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and basic data entry skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current enrollment in an Engineering degree program or any related fields of discipline is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of PC computer systems is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with engineers and technicians to support prototype development lifecycle activities i.e., design, build, test, modification
  • Assists with assembling prototype components using hand tools and basic equipment following schematics and work instructions
  • Prepares materials, parts, and tooling required for prototype builds and fabrication activities
  • Organizes and stages prototype components for efficient build and test workflows
  • Assists in setting up test configurations, including arranging equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation
  • Participates in prototype testing activities, including recording observations and documenting results to support verification efforts
  • Collects and logs test data accurately for engineering analysis and reporting
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and safety of prototype lab and workspaces
  • Assists with routine inspection and basic maintenance of lab tools and equipment to ensure operational readiness
  • Help set up and tear down lab environments for testing, demonstrations, or design reviews
  • Maintains accurate records of prototype builds, modifications, and test results
  • Assists in updating technical documentation, drawings, and builds instructions as directed
  • Supports preparation of reports, data packages, or presentation materials for engineering reviews
  • Assists in identifying minor issues during assembly or testing and escalate findings to senior technicians
  • Assists with receiving, labeling, and organizing incoming prototype materials and equipment
  • Supports tracking of prototype configurations and version control during iterative development cycles
  • Helps prepare materials and equipment for shipment between labs, test facilities, or customer locations
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure materials and tools are available to meet build/test schedules.
