About The Position

This position acts as an intermediary between the Programming team and Shop Floor operations to troubleshoot and deploy programming changes. The role will assist with the setup and running of 1st pieces on the shop floor with an operator when a programming change has been made. A significant portion of the job (20%) will be dedicated to programming training with the ultimate goal of becoming a Junior CMM Programmer upon proficiency.

Requirements

  • Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
  • High School Degree or G.E.D required
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of appropriate speeds and feeds for materials and tools.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Standards (QMS) such as AS9100 and ISO9001
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 requirements
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T)

Responsibilities

  • Create offline measurement programs that satisfy internal and customer part specifications.
  • Assist with creating work instructions, setup instructions, and perform training events to ensure Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) operators can efficiently operate the machine and execute measure programs.
  • Assist with established measurement program approval procedure.
  • Assist with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) maintenance.
  • Conduct operator training and production support.
  • Follow established standard programming procedures.
  • Write instruction sheets and geometric layouts to outline sequence of operations, and cutter setup to guide setup and operations of machine.
  • Work from blueprints, engineering instructions, specifications, and standard work.
  • Visually inspect and measure completed development units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Report faulty or unusual conditions to the appropriate level of supervision.
  • Perform other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required.
