About The Position

The Engineering Technician 1 at RJN Group plays an integral role, working under Managers and Project Engineers. This position involves assisting with field inspection services for sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and other underground infrastructure. Additionally, the technician will support data analysis services, including data quality control, editing, and input for various types of sewer system data. RJN is an employee-owned professional engineering and specialty field services firm, recognized as an ENR Top 500 Design Firm and Top 200 Environmental Firm, specializing in sustainable collection system solutions. Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Planning or Environmental Science; or similar technical degree from accredited institution; or at least 2 years applicable experience in place of BS degree
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with data management functions such as backup, archive, restoration, merging and editing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficiency with computers and tablets
  • Mechanical skills (hand and power tools)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Physical and cognitive abilities to perform confined space entry
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks

Responsibilities

  • Conduction of field inspection services such as manhole inspection, smoke testing, flow monitoring, and dyed water flooding including confined space entry work.
  • Assist with maintaining and cleaning equipment and vehicles to ensure work can be performed in a safe and productive manner.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures contained in the RJN Group, Inc. Safety Manual and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Processes project information by compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
  • Follow standard processes for routine data QC and processing.
  • Analyze data or information by identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information.
  • Travel and work overtime as required.
  • Other projects as assigned.
