About The Position

The Engineering Technician supports the engineering team in developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes, equipment, and documentation. This role works closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient workflow, resolve technical issues, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with basic measurement tools.
  • Competence using CAD, ERP systems, or engineering software.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Team‑oriented, hands‑on problem‑solving mindset.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move through the plant regularly.
  • Comfortable working around machinery and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC equipment, fabrication, automation, or robotics.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Experience writing or updating work instructions or process documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with developing, testing, and implementing new or improved manufacturing processes.
  • Support daily production activities by troubleshooting process problems, equipment setup issues, and quality concerns.
  • Collect, analyze, and report production or process data (cycle times, scrap, downtime, etc.).
  • Perform time studies, workflow analysis, and process capability evaluations.
  • Create and update engineering documents including work instructions, process sheets, drawings, routings, and equipment manuals.
  • Maintain accurate revision control of all technical documents.
  • Support the implementation of engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Assist in the design, setup, and maintenance of jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling.
  • Conduct basic maintenance or calibration on equipment as directed by engineering.
  • Support equipment installations, testing, and validation.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support quality inspections, measurement data collection, and process audits.
  • Ensure processes comply with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal specifications.
  • Participate in Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Assist with cost‑reduction activities and project implementation.
