About The Position

The Engineering Technician supports the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of Gravity Haus Breckenridge. This hands-on position performs preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general building maintenance throughout the property. The Engineering Technician works closely with the Building Maintenance Manager to keep guest rooms, public areas, amenities, equipment, and building systems safe, functional, and well maintained. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable troubleshooting problems, and takes pride in maintaining a high-quality property.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, construction, or skilled-trades experience preferred.
  • Hospitality or hotel maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following direction and established priorities.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment required.
  • Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment and varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, or other flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials.
  • Ability to work on ladders and at heights.
  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms and other maintenance areas.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality or hotel maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily maintenance requests and work orders throughout the property.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of building systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair common plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, lighting, doors, and general building issues.
  • Maintain guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, mechanical areas, amenities, and exterior areas.
  • Assist with pool, hot tub, cold plunge, and other wellness amenity maintenance.
  • Identify potential issues and report larger or recurring problems to the Building Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to maintenance issues that affect guests and members.
  • Communicate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and other departments regarding maintenance needs.
  • Minimize guest disruption when completing repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with emergency maintenance situations as directed by the Building Maintenance Manager.
  • Follow all company, property, and departmental safety procedures.
  • Use tools, equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment appropriately.
  • Complete required inspections, maintenance logs, and documentation.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment failures, and building deficiencies promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable building, fire/life-safety, pool, and workplace requirements.
  • Assist the Building Maintenance Manager with projects, vendor access, deliveries, and property improvements.
  • Support seasonal property preparation and weather-related maintenance.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of maintenance supplies and report items requiring replenishment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
