About The Position

This role involves assisting engineers with various project tasks and assignments, including testing, data collection, troubleshooting, and reporting. The technician will support design, testing, analysis, and documentation activities, as well as create and maintain CAD drawings, models, and engineering documentation. Additionally, the position supports machine programming, setup, and optimization for manufacturing equipment and automated processes, including assisting with CNC, PLC, and robotic programming updates.

Requirements

• 2-Year Technical Degree or Equivalent Experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, Manufacturing, or related field).
• Experience with or willingness to learn CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar platforms.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles related to field of study.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and process documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to machine programming, CNC programming, PLCs, automation systems, or manufacturing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety as the number one priority for all Lucas employees.
• Assist engineers with day-to-day project tasks and engineering assignments including testing, data collection, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Support design, testing, analysis, and documentation activities.
• Create, revise, and maintain CAD drawings, models, and engineering documentation.
• Support machine programming, setup, and optimization activities for manufacturing equipment and automated processes.
• Assist with CNC, PLC, robotic, or other machine programming updates as directed by engineering staff.
• Collect, organize, and analyze data related to engineering projects.
