Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with specialized training gained through vocational education or on-the-job experience.
  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles, blueprint reading, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to test, analyze, and improve systems and processes.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in basic mechanical inspection techniques, including the use of calipers, height gauges, surface plates, and other standard inspection tools.
  • Comfort using computer programs such as Microsoft Office to document work and support daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Production Team to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities. Promote communication and accountability through visual management, issue prioritization, and action tracking, and drive sustainable solutions using Lean and Six Sigma methods.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard work processes.
  • Perform final inspections of complex components, subassemblies, and finished units with tight tolerances.
  • Assess manufacturing and business processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support and maintain EWI systems.
  • Maintain and service equipment, including pneumatic tools, hydraulic tools, power tools, and machine attachments.
  • Assist with training and developing new employees.
