Requirements

  • Associate Degree is required.
  • Minimum of (6) six years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Fully Bilingual, written & Oral (Spanish & English) is required.
  • Candidate must be available to work any shift, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Electronics or related field is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Programming & Troubleshooting of (Texas Instruments, KOYO, ALLEN BRADLEY & SEIMENS) PLCs is preferred.
  • Advance computer skills and use of software application (s) such as: DOS, WINDOWS & DMACS is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Process Engineer in the installation, qualification and validation of equipment.
  • Assist in the startup of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist Process Engineers in Computer Software Validations (CSV).
  • Serve as trainer for new and/or modified equipment.
  • Optimize manufacturing systems as required (e.g., modifications of programmable logic controller, development of new techniques).
  • Assemble and perform electrical installation of new production equipment in accordance with layout requirements.
  • Assist the Process & Maintenance Engineer in providing technical support to the Production area in evaluating process/equipment deficiencies, failures & modifications.
  • Perform electrical - PLC & vision systems troubleshooting as required.
  • Troubleshooting, repair & programming of Adept & Mitsubishi Robots.
  • Maintain in an organized and proper condition all tools.
  • Must be willing to work all shifts of a three-shift operation.
  • Initiative – Resolves common and recurrent maintenance problems.
  • Presents ideas for process improvements.
  • Coordinates his regular assignment with Maintenance Engineers and Manufacturing Supervisors.
  • Has an external contact with contractors, suppliers and personnel from the Corporate Engineering Group.
  • Provide good customer service to all Business Units, as required.
  • Follow procedures for established process transfers and writes new ones for new processes complying with management of change policy.
  • Leads and trains process and manufacturing mechanics in the operation and maintenance of new equipment.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator.
  • Supports ETHICON Production System (EPS) by identifying, evaluating and resolving problems.
  • Support manufacturing in the day-to-day troubleshooting situations and actively participates on Integrated Production Team’s (IPT).
  • Interface with appropriate manufacturing representatives to ensure manufacturing operations and projects receive effective technical support in alignment with EPS.
  • Understands and adheres to ETHICON Production System (EPS) Principles and Rules.
  • Comply with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001).
