FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive : NO Level II Screening : NO Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, conducts review of development plans submitted by developers or engineering consultants to ensure compliance of the Growth Management Code and other relevant government agencies. Maintain spreadsheets and records for various Department reports. This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation : Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice. Non Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in engineering or related field, and three years of progressively responsible experience in related work.
  • Experience can be substituted for a degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • AutoCAD Certificate
  • A valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve project development plans and specifications to assure compliance with City Codes and acceptable standards, including field inspections of all proposed projects and submission of recommendations for corrections, additions and/or alterations, as needed.
  • Attend preliminary meetings relating to projects and answer inquiries.
  • Process and maintain required documentation and answer related inquiries.
  • Oversee Right-of-Way permits and answer related inquires.
  • Input work orders through in house CRS system from field inspections.
  • Prepare road construction drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Assist design team with AutoCAD projects.
  • Transfer as-build drawing information to Utility maps.
  • Perform inspection on an as needed basis.
  • Operate RTK-GIS technology.
  • This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee's physical presence at the workplace
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
