About The Position

At Stafl Systems, our Engineering Technicians are hands-on problem solvers who help bring complex lithium-ion battery systems from design to reality. In this role, you will support prototype builds, system assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities that directly impact product performance and reliability. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with tools, test equipment, hardware, and cross-functional engineering teams. You will help identify issues, improve processes, and support the development of battery systems used in real-world electrification applications.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a technician, test, manufacturing, or related role.
  • Hands-on experience with high-voltage or high-power systems.
  • Experience with test equipment such as power supplies, DAQ systems, and electrical instrumentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with lithium-ion battery systems, BMS hardware, or EV/energy storage products.
  • Familiarity with CAN bus tools and communication protocol debugging.
  • Skilled soldering and wire-harness fabrication (IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD certification a plus).
  • Experience with environmental chambers, vibration testing, or HALT/HASS methods.
  • Experience writing or improving test procedures, not just executing them.
  • Exposure to early-stage production, pilot builds, or DFM feedback loops.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving prototype environment where priorities shift and you adapt.

Responsibilities

  • Build and rework harnesses, fixtures, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Set up and run test plans with proper instrumentation and data capture.
  • Execute environmental, durability, and functional testing.
